At the beginning of March 2025, representatives from Freetown (Sierra Leone), Patras (Romania) and Lviv (Ukraine) had the chance to visit Bucharest District 2 as part of the City-to-City activities.
During the three days, Twin Cities and members from the Bucharest local ecosystem had the chance to visit the intervention site in Bucharest, discover more about the DivAirCity process, take part to sensing walks and workshops, and discuss urban regeneration and sustainability projects.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
- Presentation of the DivAirCity project and of the project’s activities
- Visit to the intervention site with a discussion on insights and challenges from regeneration projects
- Sensing walk and Climate workshop
- Visit to the city
- Visit to UTCB and discussion on innovation in sustainability and energy efficiency
MAIN LESSONS LEARNT
- In-person visits need to be prepared well in advance (in particular for visa-issues) but they also need to be flexible
- There is a strong interest in sustainability also beyond NBS (e.g. energy efficiency)
