Aarhus Exchange with its Twin Cities

At the beginning of April 2025, representatives from Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Vinnytsia (Ukraine) had the chance to visit Aarhus as part of the City-to-City activities.

Throughout two days, Twin Cities and members from the Aarhus local ecosystem had the chance to visit the intervention site in Aarhus and other examples of urban regeneration, discuss local climate plans and climate adaptation strategies, and discuss participatory approaches.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • Presentation of the DivAirCity project and of the project’s activities
  • Visit to several examples of urban regeneration projects: the DivAirCity interventions, the Eskelunden area, and the Aarhus river Robot Arm
  • Discussion on data collection and on local climate plans and climate adaptation strategies
  • Workshop on co-creation, stakeholders’ engagement, and participatory approaches facilitated by the local NGO Uniting Causes

MAIN LESSONS LEARNT

  • During in-person visits, it is important to go beyond discussions and see practical examples of the core topics of interest: NBS and innovation in action speak volumes.
  • Going beyond the local ecosystem and involving NGOs and other actors help in exchanging ideas that are not limited to the experience of DivAirCity, enriching the conversation
